Leaving your dog home alone can actually increase your property value, just ask Storm.

Do you like the way the hole in the curtain is the exact size for a dog to look out of?

“This is your fault, not mine. When you decided to get a Golden Retriever you knew what you were getting yourself into. We are a social breed of dog and enjoy the company of others. You left me at home for a couple of hours, you left your bedroom door open and you know that I like sitting there as I look out the window. When you think about it logically I actually made your lace curtain better than they were beforehand. In the past I had difficulty looking through the curtain but since I put this huge hole in it I can see perfectly so I can warn you of any intruders.  I also saw the mailman, five cars driving past and one cat.  Don’t worry, they are now gone as they were scared by my barking.

Maybe the lighting is bad for this photo, but sometimes a dog needs to show the world what a wonderful job he's done at home renovations.

I sense a negative attitude from you at my excellent renovation attempt. I find this attitude strange and confusing so as a peace offering I’ve decided not to renovate the other curtains in the house. However I reserve the right to complete the project next time you leave me home alone.

If your demeanour does not improve over this issue than I refuse to continue my long term project of digging holes in your backyard and pulling out plants in your garden. I know you enjoy me doing these tasks as I hear you screaming in joy when you see my beautiful work.  I will also refuse to bark at the cats for no obvious reason until you formally apologise.

It's hard to understand why humans don't appreciate the good work us dogs can do around the house.

Please note, I now considering this discussion closed so please do not mention it again.  Can I have a pat?”

  1. Good job, Storm-we think you may have a budding career in interior design. It’s reasonably symmetrical considering you didn’t have a template or scissors. I can’t imagine why your humans complain about stuff like that. They should see your ‘gift’ in a different light. 😉

  2. It gives no small joy and happiness that you love your dog enough to see the lighter side of his antics. I am sorry for the obvious monetary costs, but…y’know he loves you! Once I was had a GF who had a dog like Storm. Long story short, she could not tolerate his behaviors. She got rid of him and sent him off with another family. That never sat well with me and though not my dog, I felt uneasy about that decision. Doesn’t that betray some fundamental character flaw? I think it does…. Hmmm. In retrospect, we should have gotten rid of her!

I can’t see the problem Storm all it needs is a few bits cutting off and it will be great. You obviously got distracted by the cat, mailman and those cars while you were doing your designer bit. Typical humans just don’t understand.

  4. This logic might explain the reason why Gypsy has felt compelled to put her head through several of our window screens. She knows I do not want the cats to go outside and now that we are forced to have the windows closed all the time, I don’t have to worry about them.
